After successfully launching the most affordable compact sedan, Amaze facelift with ADAS features, the Honda is now gearing up to jump into the pure electrified segment. Yes, you are right!

The brand might be late at the party, but it is ensuring to follow what’s trending in the Indian market. According to the reports, the upcoming EV will be based on the outgoing model Elevate, which is likely to hit the market sometime between 2026 to 2027.

The company has not revealed or hinted at the launch-related details as yet. However, some reports suggested it might share some official details soon.

Here’s What Report Claims

According to Auto Car India, quoting the company’s top official who said, “We will be introducing three electrified models in 2026-27. One will be a battery-electric vehicle based on the Elevate and there will be two more as well. We can say all three models will be hybrids or full-electric vehicles.”

Codename, Process and Manufacturing of Upcoming EV

It has been reported that the upcoming model is under process and has been codenamed DG9D. It is expected to share a similar style statement as the ongoing Elevate. If rumours are to be believed, the battery-powered model will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Rajasthan.
