Uber India has been investing a lot of effort in silent mobility solutions to capture the masses. Again, the American ride-hailing service company came up with an innovative idea called Motorhome for the Intercity service.
It is not some typical Uber service, but more like a private home on wheels. It allows the customers to travel comfortably with their loved ones or family in a private space with all the essential amenities such as a kitchen, shower, microwave, television, a fully air-conditioned cabin with comfortable sofa-inspired seating and whatnot.
Bookings, Routes, And Service
As per the details shared by the brand, the initiative has been introduced on a one-month pilot project basis. Interested customers will be able to book the Motorhome this month, starting from 7 August. It can be pre-booked from 4 August. It will work only in Delhi-NCR for now, covering Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Lucknow, Agra, Jaipur, and Amritsar.
Future Plans
It has been revealed by the American ride-hailing service company that once it receives a positive response for the same, it will expand the service further, covering 3,000 routes nationwide. Uber also aims to spread its roots in the country, aiming to cover 4,500 intercity routes in 2026 with 50 percent city-to-city routes.

Expressing the views about the same, Shweta Mantri, Head of Rider Verticals, Uber India and South Asia said, “More and more people are choosing to hit the road for quick getaways, family visits, or even business meetings, and they want travel that’s easy, reliable, and comfortable. That’s exactly what Uber Intercity offers, and with the expansion of routes, we’re doubling down on transforming outstation road travel for millions”, reported by Drive Express.
